Script Part 1 (Brief Description/overview of the Project)

StudentHeadz

What??

Our project is based on the college year, the idea is a series of mini games based on selected enconters that students of DKIT encounter on a daily basis. Not so much the problems they encounter but issues that are apart of life around and within the college everyday. We plan for the games to be both collaborative and multiplayer(4 players), we decided to go in this direction because after extensive research into game design, specifically mini games, we came to the conclusion that games are better when they are either competitive against another human being’s or when they are collaborative with another human being’s, due to this fact we decided to incorpoate both. For example one of the games that we plan to design is “The 9am Rush”, the idea behind this game is that it is 5 to 9, the four players enter the car park at the bottom of the screen, there is only one car parking space at the top of the screen, (this is a common situation that students do find themselves in, in the college)

How??
We plan to have different forms of interaction for each game, some may overlap. Using actionscript and illustrations designed in Adobe Illustrator, we plan to design these mini games based on the daily encounters of the students. The idea is for the games to be as physical as possible and the design is planned to engross the user as much as we can. We are going to build physical controllers and through keyboard hacking we will program them ourselves in compliance with our games.

Why??
We like this idea and want to go with the idea because we are the target audience and strongly believe that the target audience will thoroughly enjoy this project. They will be able to engage in it much beter than any other game as they can relate to it on a personal level. It is what they go through, see and deal with on a daily basis, combining this with the fact that collabrative and multiplayer games proved to be the most enjoyable we think our target audience will really enjoy this project.
